Dear all,
I found a trick way of saving a plain email into HTML and thence into
the EMR.
I use thunderbird, downloaded an extension call EditHTML
http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=4490
and installed it.
When I receive an email I wish to save, I double click the email to open
it up in a larger viewing box, click file/ save as / file and then you
have a choice of file formats to save it in HTML being one of them.
This can be saved in my Locum Documents section and perhaps other EMRs.

Michael,
I presume we are talking about clinical information if its going into
the EMR. If so, plain E-mail is a definite no-no on privacy grounds.
Both the RACGP's new standrads for GP practices, which be the basis of
all coming accrediataion, and the new PIP incentives make this an
unacceptable practice.
Which is, incidentaly, why all the struggle over clinical messaging as
we've seen on the GPCG list for such a long time. If plain text was OK,
many GPs and specialists would do it now. Some are, but shouldn't be.
