In my opinion BP’s knowledge of the FREE MSDE (desktop SQL) far exceeds that of HCN. Our 6.5 Gb Plus MD2 database converted VERY EASILY to BP. Easier than many MD updates. It uses one single instance of the free MSDE rather than full M$ SQL which will only run on M$ server OS. At this point I believe that HCN are unable to migrate my existing database to a single MSDE instance; I believe that the only option for us if we were to go with MD3 is the full SQL. In my opinion BP uses M$ SQL better than MD3.

If only PS3 was correct in everything that it does? PS3 has appallingly inaccurate GST handling, debtor reports, cash flow handling etc. This is apparently being fixed, but I heard that for over two years now.

BP hasn’t yet filled all of the gaps, but as others have mentioned MD3 appears as though a lot of functionality is missing from what is currently available in MD2. HCN freely state that MD2 is no longer being developed, that all development resources are aimed at MD3. Is there a better product? I haven’t found one yet, and I have looked long and hard. BP is the best alternative in my view at this point in time, but there is still some missing functionality.
Why don’t you get a demo disk sent and evaluate it yourself???

If you want feedback, head to the BP user forum at http://forum.bpsoftware.com.au
