Hi Ian,

It is likely that NEHTA will fund the development and support of SNOMED-CT + necessary extensions (like the AMT and Devices terms etc) and that it will be made available to all who need it at no charge.

NEHTA will also manage version control and our input into the international versions etc.

My only hope is for the funds they have allocated - about 10-12 Million p.a. it will be enough. We shall see.

I believe they understand if they charge for it they will slow / stop adoption and use and that is not their goal I believe.
