Oh I am not suggesting that the referral be back dated or forward dated.
It is clearly dated with the date of creation and I can establish with a
fair degree of confidence that that was in fact the date it was created.
I am saying that the document existed in electronic format from that
date and the specialist had a copy of the document at the time of
consultation, but if you want it converted to paper, chiseled granite or
sandstone blocks we can do that for you (at a suitable fee).

Perhaps then the analogy is to the current copyright debate. When you
buy a license for the use of the application, movie etc does the license
restrict you to accessing the product on only one particular media.
