Hugh,
John Brewer from HeSA will be visiting me within the next fortnite so
that questions like this can be addressed.
Word on the street is that HIC/HeSA will not be swayed by the
impracticality of having to carry smart cards.
Doctors, it seems, will be forced to adapt.
Andrew,
Or, more likely, HesA and Medicare Australia will be ignored by most
doctors again for refusing to listen. Most doctors who are concerned
about these things seem to be completely over the Canberra mentality of
Knowing What Is Best.
Medicare Online has only been taken up in any amount since the signing
keys were dropped. Virtually no-one is taking up direct billing because
it is way too costly of front-desk staff resources at peak business
times. Especially the real-time option.
It's OK for Tony to berate doctors for not using it, but its a market
place, and if the product doesn't appeal, then bye-bye.
