I used to pay a student to top the cartridges up once a month (that's enough for us). He moved away, my son couldn't be bothered for long, and since then one of my secretaries has taken on the task - every first Tuesday in the month she tops up the ink cartridges, 8 in total, taking roughly 15 minutes of her time. Like watering plants or feeding the dish in our fish tank in the waiting room, only that it is only necessary once a month. It pays of well to train staff well. For "acute" problems like cartridge wearing out or running out of ink (rarely happens) we have plenty new cartridges in storage.
