There are 90 data elements in the GP minimum data set most with 
associated code sets which need to be presented in a standardised manner
so the list gets much bigger. There is overlap in some of the terminology
sets such as LOINC and SNOMED which must be resolved. There are four 
standard classifications in the Australian "Family of Health and Related
Classifications" which need to interface with the appropriate
terminologies - ICD10AM, ICPC-2, ICF and ATC. The MSIA is setting up an 
interoperability
working group to start addressing some of the issues. The closing seminar
at the recent NEHTA/ Standards Australia joint meeting was " Semantic 
Interoperability by 2015 - no worries" Don't hold your breath!
