Hello Jon,

Yes, we have all the categories. Its all accessible via HL7 V2
Messaging in a HTTP or SOAP wrapper. Snomed-CT is also available in a
local non encrypted SOAP server that links to the master server via
encrypted messaging. (As snomed must be encrypted over the internet).

All the databases are different with different search mechanisms and
different levels of richness. Snomed is the richest of course. Its a
lot more than straight code lookup, especially snomed-CT which
supports most advanced snomed-CT features including canonical forms
and an interpreted snomed-CT query language.

The architecture is all very similar - n-teir with SQL backend,
Application server and clients that use HL7V2 or SOAP for
communication and PGP/GNUPG/PKI for authentication/Security. Servers
can proxy queries and relay to other servers.

Every one can run alone or they can be run on one server instance and
can be proxied by one server and run on another.

The SOA interface is mostly HL7 V2 Master files queries. The Provider
directory one is actually documented here:

http://hl7-australia.wikispaces.com/Provider+Directory+Queries

these queries can be encapsuled inside a SOAP message for transport.
