I remember once asking a senior to look at an interesting patient in
Casualty 30 years ago. He said "Don’t you know that the only interesting
patient is a paying patient?"

Hands up those who hanker after the days when medicine, nursing and
allied health were still "the caring professions", instead of businesses.
