Spin is ephemeral, embodiments of good useful ideas are eternal. Of
course being non-proprietary helps in the immediate take-up and
recognition. Witness ruby on rails, but then ROR is an embodiment of
a really good idea anyway. Spin is still spin. No matter if it is of
a proprietary, gpl or of an intermediate complex persuasion.

I think its very sad that in Australia we can't support local software
companies, most of whom make most of their money overseas. Often the
reasons given are that the size of local companies makes the risk
too great
- the iSoft problems in the NHS make that argument look silly.
