If I want to reset my modem, I press the reset button. Not that I would need
to. Telstra is the only company in teh whole of Australia using a suprfluous
moronic login system that causes endless trouble for customers and modems and
limits the choice of modems considerably since the firmware has to support
their proprietary nonsense.

I simply don't get such network outages unless it is Telstra's fault anyway -
but I get them less frequent than local Telstra customers because I don't
need to use their faulty login system

The only tomes we needed support was when we requested complex routing (to
make it possible that our load balancing router can use multiple WAN
connection for both inboud as wellas outbound connections even if one
connection is down)

Non sequitur

Never needed one - my modems never have failed me. But since they are so
cheap, I always keep a spare one on the premises ($45 for a Netcomm
replacement

Yeah. Because it is you who has to worry about the costs

I have about one scheduled outage per year, lasting for minutes. It is advised
by email well in advance - not that it would worry me, because the private
plan saves so much money that I can afford multiple connections with
different providers

See - you are happy that Telstra fixes problems for you that others simply
don't get in the first place. You probably would be very grateful too to the
man who would give you some headache tavblets in between hitting your head
with a hammer.
