I doubt that even the highest resolution digitized ECG would show any visible 
hum in the GHz spectrum ;-)

50 Hz hum is only annoying because it is visible to the human eye, and you 
cannot really filter it out with a band pass filter because you still want 
the 50 Hz range signal portion within the ECG when analyzing eg Q waves

Signals above a few KHz are easy to filter out and will not disturb the 
morphology of your ECG signal
