Go James! Is this to be like Optus Healthpoint in 1998? Being able to bulkbill to medicare via EFTPOS terminals is not new, just some of the software is.
We used Healthpoint in 1998 but in 1999 they started charging us $10 per month for the priviledge of bulkbilling our patients! We soon put a stop to that, we gave back the terminal. Don't throw away your software just yet. We could well find ourselves back in that situation in years to come, even though the patients all seem to be positive about the upcoming introduction of this new method of claims, I doubt that we will be changing the way we charge - nor will it increase our level of bulkbilling. fee >-- Original Message -- >From: "James" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: "'OzDocIT list'" <[email protected]> >Date: Thu, 8 Mar 2007 10:18:51 +1100 >Subject: [GPCG_TALK] 2007-3-8 letter to the editor Medicare EFPOS swipe card > starting July 2007 >Reply-To: General Practice Computing Group Talk <[email protected]> > > >Medicare EFPOS swipe card starting July 2007 > > > >I spoke with Mr. John Howard on 774 ABC Melbourne 7/3/2007 asking the prime >minister why he feels giving $42 million each year to the banks is better >than doctors doing this for free as we could already do with current >technology.
