Something not quite so "enterprisey" (see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enterprisey ) as what HealthConnect had and
NEHTA have in mind.

But it would seem that those canny Scots have already done just this in
the guise of their shared electronic Emergency Care Summary, at a cost
of just 100 million pounds or so, rather less than the billions of
pounds budgeted for the more ambitious UK NHS EHR - see
