Wouldn't he put his seat belt on because he was holding his gun on his
lap or something? The Americans' attitude to gun control is truly
rivalled by their attitude to seatbelts.
If I were his insurer I'd refuse to pay out: 1. He was acting
unlawfully. 2. He's got the money anyway. 3. We should refuse to reward
terminal stupidity. [The latter was a seldom invoked reason for not
following the Americans into Iraq.]
