Even better:
- set scheduler (eg cron) to reboot at a certain time of the day (eg 03:00
a.m.)
- set boot manager to boot into tiny spare partition containig a g4u system
between 03:00 and 3:05, else to boot normal system
- write backup script in g4u system that backs up hdd on boot and then reboots

voila, fully automatized full hdd backup with bootable image generated!

(I have set up my schedular to do this only once per week on Sunday)
