Horst I dont think it is as bad as that. Still the tide has turned against John Howard - no matter if he was the worlds most ethical, competent politician - the public has deserted him for the next Messiah. We (most of us) really have a very good living by historical standards. It is clearly unsustainable though and as you say Australia should be ashamed of our environmental behaviour.
