When the current government came to power, things got much better.
Hold on: very slowly, over a decade and a half, and most of that just before
the last general erection where both major parties were falling over each
other to give gps money. I was told by very right-leaning doctors how clever
it was (mid-late 90's) not giving us increases year-after-year, as it would
cause bulk-billing to collapse. I couldn't understand why we had to suffer so
much in the meantime.
I suspect that under a Labor government life for GPs will be worse but
medical informaticians better.
