What higher price is there than destruction of your children's future? (by
speeding up global warming, polluting as there were no tomorrow, destroying
public education, engaging in wars, increasing social gaps, increasing
developmental gaps, destroying foreign relationships, proprietization of
essential infrastructure, fuelling workplace discontent, increasing
existential fear, destroying any prospect of home wnershio for a large part
of the population ...)?

One must think very short term when one is more scared by the prospect of
rising interest rates (which are happening anyway, in case nobody noticed)
compared to the mayhem enumerated above

Just making the few rich even richer never really has improved anything. Even
the rich can see that if they are smart.

Truth is I will happily sacrifice half my current income in exchange for a
peaceful Australia with good public infrastructure and less social gap. Any
government truly trying to solve this, I would happily pay more taxes for.
