Pity you need to compete with one of only 2 people in the Liberals who have a social conscience (Petro Georgiou). Maybe you would do better leaving Petro in. He is being much more trouble to Johnny than even perhaps Ken Harvey would be. (then again knowing Ken perhaps I am being a little rash ;-) )

Good luck Ken. Unfortuantely that particular seat has been held by the
Liberal Party since 1901 Federation and you would need about a 25% swing
with double the last ALP votes.

Not so!

In 2004 the Libs (Petro Georgiou) got 61% of the two candidate preferred vote while Labor got 39%. So a swing of 11.1% in 2007 would give Labor 50.1%, the Libs 49.9% and me more trips to Canberra.

Regardless, I agree that the swing required appears unlikely!

Like many other things I do, my ALP candidature could be seen as quixotic endeavour!

But someone needed to it and I'm certainly having fun (see some lines from my campaign brochure below)! We've also got a debate on climate change lined up with Petro in the local (Hawthorn) town hall.

Cheers
Ken
