Hi t
Daily crashes- ouch

I just got some egg in my face blaming Medtechv6 for crashing a work station
every time a specific patient was updated. After fixing the corrupted file
and seeing more non specific errors originating on one computer then
verified on several others I found blue tack on a keyboards under a keyboard
short cut template.

The Doc thought the template did not sit smoothly enough so she stuck the
media buttons on the keyboard down to make it sit a little flatter- LOL. I
noted the technical support in Medtech has picked up an huge amount. It took
two days for me to identify the data corruption and Medtech was able to fix
it the next morning.

You might like to have a look at Best practice forum. I dropped some
questions on it and the responses were very encouraging. An automated
transfer process may work with best practice.

Both Medtech, Zedmed have in-house conversion specialist who can quickly
move most version of MD2 to their product. You are correct about MD3
transfer difficulties. MD3 encryption slows the transfer process to 2 days
for them to decrypt and give you a readable file and a day or tow for the
new software to convert it for you. Realistically this is full week making
it very hard to move- I thought encryption was only to protect our data for
us!!!!

I would not consider transferring data without a full trial conversion and
validation which could making it expensive as well as time consuming.

Regards James

Subject: [GPCG_TALK] MD 3.6 crashes

I have repeatedly posted about MD crashing in exam mode, when printing
results after using letter writer,etc.

Support called me and assured me that the beta testers who had the same
problem did not have this problem in 3.6

Note that they did not know the cause of the issue - just that 3.6 fixed it.

Well guess what - it doesn't. My daily crashes are back !

I think it is time to start considering alternative software as HCN does
not seem to be able to fix this problem - only concern is the fact that
I may have difficulty in extracting my files from the database to make a
transfer
