I hear what you say Nigel - I do spend a full saturday once a month in which I update everything on every single machine so they should all be as current as they could be. Having too many apps in background is possible - the intermittent nature of the crashes make sit difficult to isolate a machine and test this. I was just getting hopeful with 3.6 - the first week went fine and I started easing back into the exam module - then all the crashes started again and I am back to where I was
