Changes to a patient’s medication regimen should prompt an update of the profile. However, the addition of short term courses of medications (eg antibiotics, cold and flu tablets) need not require profile updates.
Where is the profile stored? Who owns it and can access it? Does it link to a shared EHR?
Doesn't the PBS already have a profile on each patient?
What standards are used for storing information and for sharing information (especially given that NEHTA has not yet completed the Australian Catalogue of Medicines?)
Perhaps we will have to attend on August 7th.
