I don't know exactly how suspend-write works.  But I am NOT suggesting that is be used lightly.
It's there for special situations.  Obviously any process trying to change anything in the filesystem
is going to be blocked until mmfsctl fs resume.   That should not cause a GPFS deadlock, but systems that
depend on GPFS responding may be unhappy...
