to be POSIX compliant, a chmod overwrites ACLs

One might argue that the general rubbishness of the mmputacl cammand, and if a mmsetfacl command (or similar) existed it would negate messing with Linux utilities to change ACL's on GPFS file systems

Only been bringing it up for over a decade now ;-)
