Not sure if my latest mail got broken or not so here it is again:
Dear Steffen, bad news: there is no way of retrieving your passphrase if it's not in your mac keychain. Do you have a revoke certificate? With that you could revoke your key and create a new one. The best, imo, would be to create a new key and not forget the passphrase. Store it in your grandmas save, bury it in a titanium box in the woods etc. you get the idea. Not being asked for a passphrase can mean several things. Maybe it's stored in the mac keychain, but you wrote that you checked that (if it is, you can also find it there). If not, something is wrong with one of the components dealing with the passphrase. Could you try to run the latest installer from here: http://www.gpgtools.org/installer/index.html Also you did not mention which OS X and which versions of our tools you use. Hope this helps, steve Am 15.08.2011 um 23:57 schrieb Steffen Kassner: > Am 15.08.2011 um 18:11 schrieb gpgtools-users-requ...@lists.gpgtools.org: > >> To clarify it a bit: The password doesn't get stored in the keychain or >> anywhere on the disk.
