Hi there,
I am subscribed to the following podcast using gpodder:
http://radiofrance-podcast.net/podcast/rss_10060.xml
When I click on the "Update feeds" button, gpodder reports that no new feeds
are available. I know this isn't case since this podcast is updated daily and
the last feed I downloaded is more than a week old.
If I now open the URL above within the epiphany web browser, I get a feed which
is indeed a week old (i.e. is consistent with what gpodder reports). If I then
click on the "Reload" button of epiphany, I get the latest feed. This of course
suggests that epiphany was accessing a cached version somewhere (I am not sure
where). If I then click on the "Update feeds" button of gpodder again, the new
feed appears correctly.
So it looks like gpodder is not strict enough in requesting the latest (i.e.
not cached) version of the XML feed.
Interestingly, this happens with all the feed I have tried from
http://radiofrance-podcast.net but not for this feed for example:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/series/guardiandaily/podcast.xml
This is of course very annoying, the only workaround I found being the trick
above which defeats the whole purpose of podcasts...
Thanks for an otherwise very nice program,
Stephane
