The custom file name option was turned on and set to:
{episode.title}.{episode.basename}
I switched to: {episode.title}
and this fixed the problem.
If the podcasting standards make the {episode.basename} unreliable for
filenaming then maybe it shouldn't be included in the default. I hope some day
gpodder can better handle problems in the basename. I don't know if this means
this bug report should be closed or reclassified as long-term-wish-list.
I wish there was an additional filenaming field: {podcast.title}
This would help me sort out the files. Should I open a new report for this
feature request?
