I would like to give this a try. Rough instructions gladly accepted:)

I was also toying with alternative idea to handle this feature, which could
also move gPodder closer to search functionality (Bug#13).

Would it be feasible to implement this unwatched stuff as an aggregate channel
instead of a separate tab? This means that user can 'subscribe' to a channel
that makes searches from regular url-channels.

I would personally prefer to define the search criteria as "Latest 5 unplayed
episodes from all channels", but I can see that someone else would like to have
an aggregate channel based on keywords, time or whatever.

I'm just beginning to browse through the source. So far I haven't noticed any
show-stoppers but I may have just missed something important. If my suggestion
seems too difficult to implement, then the very easy to implement tab patch is
just fine with me too.
