Update: I performed the export of my feeds to an OPML file and mv'd
~/.config/gpodder and restarted (also did a 'git pull')

I'll report back in a week with my findings.

Interestingly, for the feed in question, the history disappeared.  Looking at
the feed in a browser, they seem to expire the oldest track, keeping 10
episodes available.

Idea: If I had more than 10 episodes downloaded yet to listen to, and the
oldest disappeared from the feed, might that cause something that leads to
some, but not all, of the previously downloaded mp3 files to disappear in
gpodder's code?
