On the Wiki you will find the page "Running gPodder from Git" that will
instruct you how to get the development version.
The relevant code is in "update_feed_cache_finish_callback" in the file
"src/gpodder/gui.py". You have to move the code commented as "auto download new
episodes" outside the check for the tray icon, etc.. - depending on what you
would like to do (only when minimized, but independent of the tray icon or
always always, as in "I don't care if minimized or not - just do it").
I am re-assigning this bug to you, so other people know you are working on it.
If you decide to stop working on this, please post a short notice, so I can
re-assign this feature request to the default assignee.
