Summary: Gpodder keeps download same items from feeds over and
over and over again
Product: gPodder
Version: 0.14.0
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: high
Component: Application
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
GPodder keeps download a number of episodes from podcasts that have already
been downloaded or that have been marked do not download.
>From <http://www.theskepticsguide.org/feed/rss.aspx?feed=SGU> it keeps wanting
re-download *all* 184 episodes over and over and over again. In this one alone,
the episode list pane has each episode listed 3 times.
>From <http://www.nasa.gov/rss/nasa360_vodcast.rss> the "21st Century Lunar
Exploration" ep from 20 January 2009.
>From <http://www.nasa.gov/rss/moments_vodcast.rss> the "Mike Fincke: Tour of
teh ISS" ep from 28 January 2009.
>From <http://www.nasa.gov/rss/NASAEdge_vodcast.rss>, the "n...@spr" ep from 15
January 2009.
>From <http://www.nasa.gov/rss/NASAEdge_vodcast.rss>, the "NASA Misison Update:
HUBBLE" ep from 16 Jan 2009.
>From <http://www.nasa.gov/rss/NASAEdge_vodcast.rss>, "Spirit and Opportunity: A
Tale of Two Rovers" ep from 12 January 2009.
>From <http://www.nasa.gov/rss/TWAN_vodcast.rss>, all 8 episodes listed in the
feed.
At least, those are the ones I can remember right now.
It does this even though the episodes in question were already successfully
downloaded or the downloads were cancelled and then set to "Do not download"
via right-clicking in the episodes pane, or in the "New Episodes Available"
clicking the "Never Download" button, or after marking them read then deleting
them, or after exporting them to a file-system based MP3 player (which
auto-deletes the eps).
GPodder attempts to redownload them at both a manual check for updates and the
automatic scan when minimized, but this is irregular. After deleting episodes
in questions and setting them to "do not download", for some it happens
immediately on the next update, for others it won't happen until a few hours
later, but this is unpredictable which ones will be redownloaded when.
Even deleting the database under ~/.config/gpodder and uninstalling then
reinstalling gpodder and re-importing my list of feeds does no good. Certain
eps keep getting downloaded over and over and over and over and over and
over....
As far as I can tell, the <pubDate> tags are not changing, nor are <guids> and
<enclosure> urls or anything that could potentially confuse gpooder into
thinking that they are brand new eps.
