When using gPodder on a Xubuntu 8.10 machine that's a bit old (AMD Athlon XP
3000), gPodder hangs for a minute or so displaying the Linux Outlaws'
image-heavy release notes. Leaving it be for half a minute to a minute results
in the release notes popping up, and downloading continues in the meantime, but
no interaction is possible until the notes pop up.
