Premise: gPodder loads at boot.
If the computer is left unattented after reboot, gPodder will check for new
feeds and pop up a dialog box with the options Download/Never/Cancel. If left
unattended, this dialogue will be loaded again and again at intervals
(according to what's set in preferences, 20 minutes in my case). Each dialogue
box has to be responed to before gPodder can be minimized again and to resume
downloads. The dialogue boxes has to be responded to in proper order, the one
furthest back first and so on. Hence, it requires plenty of Alt+tab or simply
xkill.
