I don't know where to file this feature request, because it is about both
gPodder (Desktop), gPodder (Maemo), my.gpodder.net and Panucci. But I'll take
my chance and file it here. :)
It starts while listening to an episode. You notice that this is an
exceptionally good episode and want to keep it for later, maybe share it with
others, and add some notes to it so that it's easy for you to find it again and
to remember why you kept it. Today that is a difficult process. Here is my
suggestion:
While listening to the episode in Panucci you click on a new menu item:
Favorite (this should also be available in gPodder on both desktop and Maemo,
of course, for those not using Panucci). When you do this several things
happen:
First you are asked if you would like to add a note to the episode. This note,
together with the favorite status, is synced via my.gpodder.net to all your
gPodder installations (desktop, Maemo), where it is listed in a special place
in the sidebar (see attached mockup).
It would also be added to a favorite episodes list on my.gpodder.net, the
possibility of downloading it. The favorite episodes list should have its own
feed.
gPodder would then save that episode, with the note (if you chose to write
one), in a folder you've chosen in the settings. The note should be searchable
trough Tracker and other standard search systems in Linux.
All my favorite episodes should then be easy to share with friends trough
gPodder (see upcoming feature request for making gPodder social),
my.gpodder.net, and maybe even trough an embeddable widget for my blog/website.
I hope I made my wishes for faving podcast episodes clear. If not, please let
me know. It's a bit complex, and english is not my first language, as you can
tell. :)
This would be a killer feature for me!
