Which version of gPodder are you using? Newer versions have "hooks"
functionality that allow you to write custom code at certain points. One option
would be to write a hooks script that automatically removes the "new" mark of
episodes for specific podcasts until an "official" solution (per-podcast
preference, probably) comes around. Are you interested in something like this?
