Summary: gPodder welcome screen (not a joke)
           Product: gPodder
           Version: 2.9
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: feature request
          Priority: low
         Component: Application
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]

This is a strange feature request, I know. But allow me to explain.

Right now I have about 20 subscriptions in gPodder. Sometimes I wish to use the
"All episodes" view, but the problem is that when I enable "Show 'All episodes'
in podcast list", it causes the program to hang whenever I start it up. This is
because it defaults to the top-most subscription (in this case "All episodes")
and it takes a good amount of time to load the entire list (roughly 20
podcasts, remember.) So I have to keep going back and forth between enabling
and disabling "All episodes" so that gPodder doesn't hang when I launch it.

If gPodder defaulted to a "welcome screen" or even a simple logo page upon
launching, then it would remedy this issue. And perhaps it might even remody
other issues in the future, such as if someone's top-most podcast has many
episodes, which will cause gPodder to hang for a bit when started.

It's sort of like having your web browser homepage set http://www.google.com,
rather than a large page with many objects. When you launch your web browser,
it's "up and ready to go" on your lightweight homepage, awaiting your input.
