Bug #: 1425
Summary: Instructions missing: gpodder with MTP device like
Creative Zen
Classification: Unclassified
Product: gPodder
Version: 2.14
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: feature request
Priority: low
Component: Documentation
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
There are no instructions in the Wiki or in the manual on how to use gpodder
with a MTP MP3 player such as the Creative Zen. I would be happy to write up
something nice, but I have not been able to figure out how to get my Creative
Zen player recognized by gpodder.
I am running Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty) with kernel 2.6.38-11-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP
Fri Jul 29 19:02:55 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux. I have installed
mpt-tools and mpt-fs packages.
My device is recognized my mtp-detect. It appears in the lsusb output.
I am able to mount the Creative Zen manually using these commands:
sudo mtpfs -o allow_other /media/usbdisk
I have configured an MTP device in the gpodder preferences menu.
I am an experienced Linux user and I write good documentation. If someone can
help me with some steps to try to get this device recognized and working with
gpodder, I am happy to write the steps up in the WIKI.
