0x7E is a "System Thread Exception," if I recall correctly. I would
have expected a 0x7B for the more typical case where the boot volume is
not found.
Would you be kind enough to share your .REG Registry exports? My
initial suspicion is that your particular network interface driver(s)
involve an extra "layer" in the device node tree, which might need extra
attention.
