Agreed, that is a much higher priority.
Since the contour mode feature is being removed now to make way for the
improved graphics core, I should watch for the new core to appear in
snapshots in the next few months? That will be awesome.
It sounds like there will be many more features that will need to be
dropped to make way for the improved core--surely that will affect many
other features as well?
Given the importance of your statement here, it seems unfortunate that
it was not communicated in the spec or the announcement, which focused
entirely on the UI clutter factor.
BTW, I'm all for targeting Impress at "business graphics" but I'm not
sure it's the best target for Draw. There is a huge gap between MS Paint
and Adobe Illustrator: many ordinary users need a good tool for simple
technical drawings that are not "business graphics". It would serve well
for Impress to focus on the simpler graphics needed for presentations,
and evolve Draw for solid technical use.
The business use case that is not currently met well at all is something
like Visio for making diagrams.
Ok, I'm finished. I see that while I'm wasting time blabbering on,
Regina has done something productive and filed the appropriate issues
;-) Well done!
