This page:
http://documentation.openoffice.org/Samples_Templates/User/gallery/index.html
contains some Gallery samples in svg format (e.g. "vectorpatterns-src" and "animals") and the installation instructions there say that the files can simply be unpacked into the "%OpenOffice.org%/User/Gallery" directory.

The comments on this issue:
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=3582#desc14
suggest that svg files can be used as chart symbols, even giving a screen capture of the provided samples in use with Chart, but no details on how it was done.

As far as I understand, and from testing with OOo 3.1.1, OOo does not recognize an svg file as an accepted graphics format, even with the svg import extension installed, in either the gallery or as a chart symbol.

Can someone tell me if there's something I've missed--is there some way (other than editing the document xml!)--for OOo to use svg content like this?

Thanks!

<Joe
