I'm getting the following error trying to generate vector contours from a
raster using the brand new GRASS (Sept 21 2009)

r.contour --overwrite input=out output=out minlevel=0 maxlevel=140 step=5
Invalid argument: can't _spawnl
Unable to start driver <dbf>
Unable open database <D:\Kapo\GISdata/scratch/General/dbf/> by driver <dbf>
Unable to find table <out> linked to vector map <out>

This "Invalid argument: can't _spawnl" has been reported also in
http://trac.osgeo.org/grass/ticket/629#comment:18

but I don't know if it is related.

It was working fine with the version right before that. As a matter of fact
it worked fine yesterday and i got this error message today after installing
the sept 21 2009 version.
