That is correct. The Post-It panels in Grasshopper will have inputs
and outputs, and all data that exists (numbers, strings, points,
vectors, curves meshes) can be displayed on the screen. I don't see
how Excel fits into this though...

There is some confusion here. At the moment, Post-It panels just
convert all data into text, then display that text on the screen.
There is no 'file' anywhere. A feature I'd like to implement but
haven't yet, is the ability for Post-It panels to simultaneously
stream their content to a text file on the disk. If this proves to be
simple (which I suspect is the case), I'll add it for the next
release.

New release is scheduled for Friday (tomorrow), but there's a fair
amount of IO code testing still needed and depending on how many
problems I find it might be early next week instead.
