Frank,

I'm sure it's possible, though I don't know how well Grasshopper could
deal with streaming input. It doesn't sound terribly easy though, and
if you're still only about to get into scripting, this is probably way
over your head. You'll need to make a custom component for this,
within it's own assembly which is capable of referencing other
assemblies.

I'll put it on the list though (believe it or not, we've actually
talked about sound controls for Grasshopper during a silly meeting
once), it does sound like a fun project.
