Hi Pax,

RhinoScript has a wholly different target group than Grasshopper. Some
stuff is easier in GH, but RhinoScript is more powerful. It allows for
really intricate algorithms.
Since both platforms are still being actively developed, and since
RhinoScript has at least an 8 year head start, I doubt Grasshopper
will ever catch up.

I don't think that learning scripting is really ever a waste of time.
It is a massively useful tool for anybody who is using Rhino on a day-
to-day basis. Also, I suspect we'll see script and plugin development
moving towards each other in the near future.
