Ok,

the answer to your question is 28!!! :)

When you have a surface or other pointgrid for which you have set the
range to say 27, it count 0 as well which gives you 28 points in the u
direction, and in your case 28 points in the v direction as well. So
when asked to specify the number of points in the u-direction you use
your u-count + one which is 28.
