ok i'm going to open my giant mouth and "third" Mårten's question and
ask why another google group for grasshopper because i've been around
the software block a few times and i think these kinds of questions
matter a great deal to the success of a technology or at least access
to it...soooo i'd say life would not exist without redundancy but to
some degree intelligence is a form of compression. this space (meaning
the diffusion of grasshopper innovation and intelligence) is so new it
somewhat frightens me to see another primary forum posited already.
the density of the core forum/community still really really matters i
think at this point.

...but i could be completely wrong, it's happened before, quite a lot
really : ). HOWEVER david rutten is on here, if you're new to the
space you wouldn't know how fantastically important it is that he is
on this forum and how incredibly generous he is with his time and
intelligence.

frankly i'm sort of interested in how the forum can become even more
dense by going partially physical... anyone live in/near portland,
oregon so that we might throw back a refreshment every once in a while
as a sort of local user group meeting? i mean that as an extension of
this forum not in any way as a replacement. this forum as a central
node for archived communications about the evolution of grasshopper
seems essential.

...again i could be sort of contradicting myself here by discussing
the idea of local user groups as well. but as far as online goes, i
really like the "one forum + N-blogs" model, it seems smart. currently
the only challenge seems to be the question of not being able to
reference some older images and files. personally my solution is to
try to "host whatever files i post" so as not to eat up space and
preserve the links.

great personal research blog though behrang, the sharing is most
certainly appreciated and i for one certainly don't mean to be a wet
blanket over any general enthusiasm! and in case you're wondering i am
just another fish in this sea for sure so feel free to absolutely
COMPLETELY ignore my opinion : ).
