This is absolutely wonderful idea.

Recently, I've read WSJ article about (a kind of ) battle in the commercial
market of OLPC with ginant, Intel with respect to "cheap PC", not from
the aspect of educational project as OLPC aims for.
And I felt sad, because this should not be happend and this situation seems
somehow nonsense for me.

As Mr.Negroponte said, this is an educational project, so no commercial
companies can beat OLPC with their "just" cheap PC without any
educational principles.

I guess one idea to avoid such a nonsense battle in the commercial market
is to make OLPC activities some kind of UN project. So applying UNDP
project is totally woderful idea.

Actually, I myself would like to find out some way to let OLPC activities
progress without any interruptions from any commercial activities, and
I've attended the seminar of Ms.Sadako Ogata, ex-UNHCR.

I guess it'll be a solid and realistic way to collaborate with UN.

I even think any kind of commercial activities should be prohibited from
(kind of ) educational market of all developping countries for certain
period, and those governments and UN projects, along with OLPC
support, develop their educational environments.

Well, anyway, it is a good news.
And I was encouraged by this news.
