Hi, this sounds like an incomplete installation to me. Either the JAR file isn't in the place you're expecting it to be, the JAR file is defect, or the permissions of the directory are insufficient.
You can try out the official packages for Ubuntu 14.04 <http://graylog2.org/resources/documentation/general/packages> and see if they get you further. Cheers, Jochen Am Mittwoch, 27.
