The first option in tools -> add-ons is "Get Add-ons" (*). There you
see add-ons that are available to download/installation from the
Mozilla website. The second option corresponds to the add-ons you
actually have installed. Your description ("things I can add if I
like") suggests that you are seeing Greasemonkey in the "Get Add-ons"
dialogue. If so, select 'Add to Firefox' to install it.
(*) My copy of Firefox is not in English, therefore the actual English
texts might not match my guesses.
